The Weight Of Caring

Lydia Sieczkowski | Contributing Writer

You can block me...

Act like I don't exist...

Lie about me and who I am...

Blame me for everything...

But you won't forget that I was the only person who truly knew you.

Who stood by you and listened to everything.

Who stood up for you when everyone was against you.

You won't forget how many times I chose to stay when I shouldn't have.

You won't forget how deeply I cared when you felt like no one else did.

You won't forget the times I helped you through what no one knew about.

Even when I was struggling with my own things.

I was there. You can tell yourself I didn't love you but you can't forget, because I can't forget either.
