Lessons in Chemistry/ Apple TV+ Press/ May 2023
The novel “Lessons in Chemistry” by Bonnie Garmus was published in April 2022 and quickly became a success as a New York Times #1 Best Seller and was one of the New York Times Notable Books of the Year. The book has been turned into a series that will premiere on Oct. 13 on Apple TV+.
“Lessons in Chemistry” main character, Elizabeth Zott, is an untraditional woman in 1960s California. She is the only female chemist on an all-male team at Hastings Research Institute, and the rest of her team doesn't have the same views about equality as she does. Except for Calvin Evans, who loves her for exactly who she is. But life is unpredictable, and a few years later, Elizabeth finds herself becoming a single mother and, reluctantly, the host of one of America’s most beloved cooking shows. Her approach is revolutionary, but not everyone is happy with her success. Not only is she teaching women how to cook, but she challenges them to change the status quo.
The TV show will star award-winning actress Brie Larson as Elizabeth Zott and Lewis Pullman as Calvin Evans.
The first two episodes will premiere on Oct. 13, and new episodes will then be released weekly on Fridays. All of the episodes will be exclusively on Apple TV+.
