Five years after her debut solo single “Motivation” Normani, a former member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, has announced her upcoming debut album “Dopamine" on her Instagram on Feb. 1. The album does not have a release date yet but will come out at some point this year.

Normani got her start in Fifth Harmony after being put into the group during her time on “The X Factor” in 2012. After their time on the show, the band was signed to Simon Cowell’s record label Syco Music in 2013 and released their first album “Better Together” peaking on the Billboard 200 at number 6. The group went on to release several albums until Camilla Cabello left the group in 2016, and soon after, all the band members parted ways to focus on their solo careers.

Normani released “Motivation” in 2019 and worked with several artists on their singles, but hasn’t released any of her music since then, unlike her other former bandmates. In May 2023, she split from her Manager Brandon Silverstein, and signed a new management deal with Brandon Creed and Lydia Asrat.

Fans are excited to finally hear the music that Normani has been working on for years. She has the potential to be a great artist and now fans will see how she will cement her place as a solo artist.
